On Sunday evening, while at Shoprite I wanted to pick up a new bottle of SoftSoap – the refill size so that I could fill the SoftSoap dispensers in my house.
They only had the antibacterial kind or the plain one, and they weren’t even on sale. So I figured I’d be able to get the one I really wanted (the Crisp Cucumber & Melon) online, and it would end up costing less.
So Monday morning I looked around, and noticed that almost everywhere I could the 32oz refill size for between $4.50 – $4.99 with free shipping or if I picked it up myself. Amazon was ridiculous at $11 a bottle, but other then that, it was pretty consistent.
Then I went to Walmart and while 1 bottle was $3.47 (already a better price), you could get a 2 pack for $5.96. I had to pay shipping (they didn’t have it available to ship to my store, and since I wasn’t spending $50 I couldn’t get free shipping), but because it was so cheap and I wanted to buy 6 of them, it was still a much better price to buy them at Walmart!
So I placed my order, and was told it would come the following Wednesday (a week and 2 days later) which was ok, I wasn’t in dire need of soap yet. Well, to my surprise, it showed up on my doorstep this morning, and it’s only Friday!
I unpacked the soap, and not long after, I found a cat in the box.
So, the question is…did I get a great deal on soap? Or did I buy an expensive box for the cat?
Either way it looks like everyone is happy. We now have plenty of soap that will last a long time, and the cat has a new box to play in for a while.
If you need the Softsoap Refills though, I’d take a look at Walmart’s website. I was happy with $2.98 per 32oz bottle of Softsoap (plus tax and shipping), and I got the scent that I wanted too!
